2025 September 24th, Rizhao, China – The sixth orbital plane of GEESATCOM, known as Geely Future Mobility Constellation successfully launched off the waters near Rizhao, Shandong, deploying 12 satellites in a single launch. This marks the third consecutive deployment launch within two months. The satellites successfully entered their designated orbits, all systems are operating normally, and the launch mission has been declared a complete success.

GEESATCOM is a global low-Earth-orbit satellite IoT constellation independently designed, developed, constructed, and operated by Geespace, the commercial aerospace company under Geely Holding Group. From 2022 to 2025, Geespace successfully completed six consecutive launches to accomplish the Phase I constellation deployment. To date, including earlier test satellites deployed in orbital planes, the number of satellites in orbit has reached 64. With 100% in-orbit reliability and 100% network reliability, the constellation now provides real-time communication coverage for any location on Earth, excluding the North and South Poles.

Building a Next-Generation Global Commercial Satellite IoT Constellation

With its satellites currently in orbit, GEESATCOM is able to provide one-to-two-layer real-time satellite communication coverage within the 60° north–south latitude range. The system supports 340 million communications per day. The constellation can serve up to 20 million users worldwide, including approximately 5 million high-frequency users and 15 million medium- and low-frequency users. In terms of communication performance, the constellation delivers stable and reliable transmission with a single-message data capacity of 1,900 bytes, supporting services such as text messages, voice messages, and images.

Protecting user data and connectivity, both transmissions and terminals utilize advanced, fully self-developed adaptive anti-signal disruption algorithm, offering ultra-strong resistance of 50 dB. The system also has robust anti-interception capabilities, ensuring the security of transmitted information. The system’s service frequency features the strongest diffraction characteristics in the industry, with low link loss, guaranteeing communication availability and reliability far exceeding international counterparts.

Backed by long-term, large-scale R&D investment, Geespace has developed full-stack in-house capabilities covering space, ground, and application segments. These capabilities span constellation system design and verification, self-developed payload platforms, satellite mass production, autonomous constellation operation and management, as well as the development and production of application communication chips and multiple terminal modules.

Service fees for the constellation’s IoT communications are just one percent of traditional satellite communication provider costs, significantly lowering the threshold for widespread adoption. Building on medium- and low-speed data communication services, the constellation allows flexible configuration across multiple dimensions—such as real-time responsiveness, priority scheduling, acknowledgment mechanisms, message length, and service frequency—tailored to different application scenarios.

For example, in emergency communications, higher communication priority can be set to ensure timely response. In satellite-enabled vehicle networking, the system supports real-time position confirmation and short message exchange to guarantee vehicle interconnectivity. In construction machinery and other industrial applications, low-frequency, low-power modes can be configured to meet the needs of low-cost, ultra-low-energy, and long-endurance service scenarios.

In the future, with the full deployment of all 72 satellites in Phase I, the constellation will achieve three-to-four-layer real-time coverage across its global service area. Its communication capacity and service reliability will be further enhanced, making it a flagship example of China’s commercial space industry in building a next-generation satellite IoT constellation for global applications.

Global-Ready Commercial Loop Validated Across Multiple Markets

Geespace has completed the R&D and mass production of self-developed satellite communication chips, modules, and terminal products, and has successfully passed commercial validation testing (POC tests). This has created a complete business ecosystem covering the space segment (satellites) – ground systems – application products.

In China, Geespace has partnered with leading enterprises such as China Unicom, Zoomlion, and Geely Auto to drive innovation through the integration of “satellite IoT + industries.” It has completed commercial validation tests across application scenarios including “satellite + intelligent connected vehicles,” “satellite + marine fisheries,” “satellite + construction machinery,” and “satellite + transportation and logistics,” achieving a success rate close to 100%. These efforts have effectively promoted the convergence of satellite IoT with next-generation information infrastructures such as the industrial internet, vehicle networking, and low-altitude smart networking.

In international markets, Geespace is focusing on the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Latin America. In June 2024, GEESATCOM successfully carried out its first overseas commercial deployment test in Oman, achieving a communication success rate of 99.15% and network availability exceeding 99.97%. To date, the company has signed agreements with telecom operators in more than 20 overseas countries, with applications spanning marine fisheries, smart transportation, energy management, emergency communications, and more.

Leveraging GEESATCOM’s global satellite IoT coverage, Geespace can provide stable and reliable real-time satellite IoT communication services for a wide range of scenarios, including intelligent connected vehicles, marine fisheries, construction machinery, low-altitude mobility, emergency communications, transportation and logistics, public infrastructure, energy, water management, and agriculture, forestry, and animal husbandry. With the successful completion of the Phase I constellation deployment, Geespace is now delivering commercial satellite IoT services to users worldwide—bringing the “constellation in the sky” into the real-world and everyday life, empowering industrial upgrades and benefiting social development.
